Apologies for my lack of postings this lately. I have (and still am) suffering with what seems to be 'old-age-acoming' problems which has left me a bit lethargic and disinterested in most things I am usually interested in!
Anyway, I thought it about time I added a few more snaps that I have taken over the last week or so.
Thanks for supplying the goods in my absence which I found were quite sufficient to the point of not missing any of mine! I feel almost inadequate now after seeing what other members like Laura, Potassium and Sandra can produce!
Anyway (I keep saying that), you may notice I take quite a few of the canals around here and I make no apologies as to my mind they are worth taking, if only to capture history. It always amazes me to look at each bridge as I pass under it and wonder about the amount of skill and man-hours that went into constructing it. It is very sad to see a lot of these bridges simply existing and serving no useful purpose now. I walked along the canal at Bosley yesterday and at least three of the five bridges I saw served no purpose. They were to carry farm traffic in the past but now the bridge tracks are all overgrown with nothing leading to it or going from it. So sad after seeing the intricate stone-work skill that created in them.
So it is my intention to start photographing these bridges. each one is different in some small way and I hope to try and capture them to show they are different.
Anyway (that word again!) here's a few canal shots at Bosley and also a few I took at Macclesfield Forest today when it was raining. Finally one at Rudyard and a flower that was along the canal. I am NOT a flower person so I am guessing it is a foxglove??
