Hi Barry Your photographs are superb. Then again, we cannot expect anything less from your good self. I took this photograph last year and I was surprised to find out that you have to signal the driver of the train if you wish to board at this station. Regards Margaret

Hi Margaret
Thanks for your comments.
I believe that is Conwy station? There are in fact a lot of stations on the lesser used lines all over the country which rely on 'passenger requests' to stop. Either by the passengers flagging the train down at the station or by the travelling passengers informing the guard or driver of the train that they wish to alight at the station ahead.
It saves the rail company a lot of money in loco servicing (brakes are very expensive) and also saves on journey times too.
Cheers

Hello Barry
Thank you for your kind explanation in respect of Conwy Railway Station. I must admit that I was quite surprised by the 'passenger request'. However, I suspect that the local residents and vast majority of tourists shall be familiar with the same.
I also visited Conwy Castle and I do hope to upload some photographs of this charming castle.
Regards Margaret
